Dead but not forgotten

Some of the best ideas never see the light of day. Here are some of those ideas.

Everyone Poops Plastic // Brita
The ask: Get people to stop using plastic water bottles and use Brita instead.

There are a million messages out there about how plastic is bad for the environment, but the best way to get people to stop doing something is to show them how it affects THEM on a daily basis.

Based off findings from a study that found microplastics in human poop,
we came up with the idea for Everyone Poops Plastic, a new spin on the classic kid’s book Everyone Poops.

The original children’s book, Everyone Poops, taught people an important lesson about life. But Everyone Poops Plastic will teach people an important lesson about protecting life on our planet.

Purr Power // Fresh Step
The ask: Solve a real problem about cats.

In the US, anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness — affecting 40 million adults. Contributing to anxiety is stress, depression and physical health. And while there are hundreds of pills we can throw at the problem, we’ve tapped into a natural solution you’d never expect.

In recent studies, it has been shown that the frequency vibrations of a cat’s purr have positive effects on a human’s overall health by reducing stress, boosting mood and promoting physical healing.

By combining this knowledge with innovations in technology, we’re going to create a detector on your cat’s collar that wirelessly connects to a smart bracelet on your wrist.

Whenever your cat purrs, the detector will trigger your bracelet to vibrate at the exact same time with the exact same frequency. Not only is this a great way to harness and deliver “Purr Power”, it’s a way to connect owners to their cats like never before.
